Crimp bead problem

Feb 25, 2004 4 Replies

I have been using tiger wire and one crimp bead on my jewelry. I find that the wire slips out of the crimp bead and the beads go everywhere. Any suggestions? TIA , hc

More crimp beads and a better quality of "wire". At the least, go to Acculon and 19 strands. Also what crimps are you using and do you have crimping pliers?

Here is a good photo tutorial on crimping - maybe that will help?

A) don't use the crimps they sell at the crafts store, unless they are Sterling Silver or Gold Filled Tubes. The other ones are crap.

B) Tiger tail is crappy stuff and will break. There is Soft-Flex and Soft-Touch, which I love but others consider pricey. There is also Fireline, Power Pro and other stringing material for which you would not need a crimp at all -- it ties into a knot, like thread.

Good luck.
