Doing something tangible to help - Sorta OT

Washing first would be nice, but no one will get called nasty names if that step is forgotten. Putting a backing on... that is something I dont have experience with, and our resident Crazy Quilt lurker is out of town this weekend so I cant ask her. She will be back Monday. I will find out how Crazy quilters back their beaded pieces. Im glad you asked. Diana

Yup...that's what we referred to when we decided the color scheme. Thanks for all the hard work compiling it!

I would prefer it washed, if possible, because i do get a reaction from the chemicals. But I'll probably be using gloves anyway, so it may not matter too much.

I'll just put a note in saying that the fabric is unwashed. I know that hot pink wasn't on the list of colours, but do you think you could sneak some in somewhere?

That could be our *zing* color. What do you think J? Diana

You know me...I can make pretty much anything work. ; )

I would think that prewashing would be very, very helpful....that way Jalynne doesn't have to prewash everything herself. ~~ Sooz To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong. ~~Joseph Chilton Pearce

Ok, I read all of the things we can and can not put on the squares but I am dumb and don't know what all the words mean. :)

I got some special iron-on paper, which allows you to print on it in a regular printer and then iron it on clothes. I got industrial quality paper at the time in a pack of 100 sheets but now I can't find the package any more. We've put it on clothes and washed them and have been selling them. Would this be ok to put on the quilt square?

Thanks!

Sounds like the iron on transfer paper I have here. If the ironed on image feels rubbery/plasticky at all when you've put it on the fabric, then it will most likely melt when I have to press seams while assembling the quilt. It's happened to me before, and I'd just rather not have to worry about ruining someone else's hard work. I do like that they wash really well, and I've used it more on T-shirts and stuff. I think it's just the high heat of the iron that gets it.

Oh that sounds wonderful. I have some paintings I've scanned into the computer and I could print out in just the right size. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee good idea!

Those would work wonderfully in the wallhanging. If anyone wants to make such a tranfer type block just know that it would not be used in the quilt itself but a coordinating wall hanging. This is gonna be GOOD! Diana

Send me your addr and I'll send you some. I got a "great discount" on

OH yeah, DOH...lol. Definitely would work for the wallhanging. Sorry about that. I'm still dealing with brain fog from the flu.

I'm sorry you're feeling so icky, Cheryl. I'm fortunate and only got a sinus infection from the flu. I'm really tired, too, and can't seem to get enough sleep, but I figure time will take care of that.
