Some info that will help the hug quilt---

One thing -- is it a cozy quilt to snuggle in if it has all sorts of beading on it? And will it be easy to take care of -- wash, etc.?

Thank you Sooz, that will help a lot! When we quilters talk about jewel tones even we disagree which those colors are. This narrows the fields nicely. Diana

Acutally, yes, photo transfers tend to melt and be sticky...they're hard to work with on quilts. Fabic paints are ok, as long as they're not puffy ones. The rest are A-OK.

I'll make sure of it, Sooz. If there are pieces that are not washable, well, I'll just have to make a matching wallhanging, won't I?

Sure, my dears. The plums, purples, deep blues with some greens -- those colors together sound DELICIOUS --- what Kathy would really enjoy thoroughly!

Then its working already. :-) A lot of us read how youre coping with your pain and feel like there should be more we can do than just send vibes. Those are important, vitally so, but there is nothing in the world like a quilt that one can wrap up in, made by folks who care. Its not a deserve issue, its my personal belief that everyone who wants a quilt deserves one, and its not about earning one either. Its giving us a chance to give ourselves to you, who gives so much of yourself to us. We love you Kathy. I love you. If this quilt shows you even a 10th of how we feel it will be powerful medicine indeed. Oh, piddle...worry about you. We won't do anything that we don't a) want to and b)can afford to.

Huggles - you need to save strength so we can celebrate our birthdays next week. Wish we could spend them together, but a quick trip to Beantown is not in the cards right now. :-)

You know...the same goes for us. We don't give to get credit...just to help people, just like you. The internet has made our world much smaller. We're able to reach out to more people than our immediate community, and every once in a while, when it's not feasable to actually go to that person and give them a hug, it's nice to be able to give them a fabric one (or other cuddly material) so that they can get a hug whenever they need one. Just wait. You'll understand when it gets there. Meanwhile....sit back, relax, enjoy, try to focus on the loving and healing vibes and prayers.
