First let me apologize for misreading your post. You're right. You didnt say everbody makes fun of hillbillies. I dont know that anyone questioned the fairness of the question. You go ahead and ask any question you like. :-) My point is that every gets joked about. Some teasing is meant to be a put down, some isnt. Its all in the intent of the joker and in the perception of the target. You asked, why do people always make jokes about hillbillies... thats a valid question. Why? because they are easy targets. So are yuppies who buy single potatos in individually wrapped packages, and so are Texans with their drawl, and so are TV evangelists and Canadians... and so on. Lets not loose our senses of humor in the name of political correctness. My husband doesnt use his humor as an attack to single out any group of people. It has no malice in it. People sense that and feel included in his life. He recognizes that all human beings are funny. He enjoys that fact and shares it. Diana
