Oh, and you must have a strong stomach for the marketing method.
I'd like to agree with you but she's getting an awful lot of bids.

I think it's just awful that we are being so critical of another human being based on her looks. ... But, I *do* have a comment. ;-)
Anyone know the Confederate Railroad song "Trashy Women"?
Ya shoulda seen the looks on the faces of my dad and mom When I showed up to the door with my date for the senior prom They said "Pardon us, son, but she ain't no kid! That's a cocktail waitress in a Dolly Parton wig!" I said, "I know it, Dad, ain't she COOL?" That's the kind I dig!

Hubby's got a bunch of nice rocks in the basement, now I know how to sell them! LOL
The marketing method is annoying and distracting. It's hard to tell what she's selling.... Oh, ouch. Shame on me for typing that. ;)
Very pretty geodes.
Thanks for saying this.
In free-association to the song you quote, I am thinking about a poem by feminist Judy Grahn, called "The Common Woman'. It looks at a variety of women who are often underestimated through a lens of realism about their limitations and appreciation for their keeping on keeping on ... combined.
I think there is a very human coctail of unconscious pathos and conscious gutsiness, and maybe a sense of irony about commercial crassness -- to the way this woman is strutting her stuff. And she is hardly the first person to use sexuality to drum up commerce. Look at the ads in any major sports event. She is doing what the culture does. Nothing worse. IMO.

You are absolutely right of course, whatever works and sexuality works. Did anyone notice her jewelry? She wears some interesting necklaces.

Does your husband have nice ta-tas? Diana ;-)

I agree.

Just to play Devil's Advocate here... Maybe it's a cultural thing. I know that in some areas of the country, going to the grocery store with curlers in your hair is so commonplace that it's not even thought of as being odd or different, while in other areas of the country, it's simply not done. In my neighborhood, for example, it's not unusual to see someone at the corner grocery in a muumuu and house slippers. Five miles away, the person wearing those items would be looked at like they belonged in a loony bin.
I have to admit, there are regions around here where what that woman is wearing could be considered "Sunday Go-To-Meeting" attire.
Perhaps it has nothing to do with sex, and everything to do with how she perceives herself. That may well be one of her favorite shirts and she wanted to wear it for that reason alone.
Oh please....Can you say, "Yee haw, pop me a cold one, Irene and one for Bubba while yer at it"?
Well then, how about the speedo? Huh? The -- man IS decended from a very hairy species, how much can you spill over the top of that thing manly bathing suit? There's another topic altogether!
It seems unlikely that she wore that shirt for any other reason than to display her goods.. but.. I feel a little more than hypocritical when I encourage people to express themselves (in clothing or jewelry or taste in music) and then knock this woman for wearing something I personally dont find appealing on a woman that age.. well.. any age really. Is her right to dress that way even if we dont approve? Sure. I think we in this group are bothered that she is using sex to sell rocks, and that part bothers me too, her choice of clothing and selling techniques are her right to choose. Its sad that women still feel thats an acceptable way to promote a product. I have the same hypocritical feeling when I run down overweight women who dress in less than flattering styles. Its their right to dress in what they feel sexy in even when a lot of people find it offensive. Diana
Well said. Is anyone else being hurt by what this woman is doing? Of course not; the only one she *might* be hurting is herself -- and I suspect she knows perfectly well what her market is and how to appeal to that market.
It reflects poorly on us as a group to go into a "feeding frenzy" of this nature over something so trivial. Laughing about it is one thing, but I'm hearing a *lot* of hostility and "How Dare She!" too, and that bothers me.
