She posts about beads! Ohhhh this could start a trend. Two times in one year? A record! I finally got back to beading. The result of my efforts can be seen at the URL below, in the unfiled photos folder. There is a long troubling tale about not being able to find my beading needles, and then not being able to thread the needle, but since its a long story, and not very entertaining I will spare you.. Im pleased with how it turned out. The colors of the beads dont show well, but they coordinate with the lame of the accents really well, blue, bluegreen, and green are the primary colors. This is the second fringe Ive attempted. Its not stunning, or opulent, but I think Im ready for trying for that next. In this case, done was good. DDIL will have her very own stocking this year after all. :-) Thanks for looking, Diana

Thank you, Kathy. DDIL loves blue, and all things glitzy are great for the holidays. so she gets her hearts desire. Blue ornaments for DDIL are in the clay folder. Im pleased with how they turned out too. Diana, singing the *blues* for Christmas

You might enjoy my Christmas site... it's blue... red... and some gold here n there. No green. Kinda different. There are no beads on it though, I've got to work on that! :) Just poetry, meditations, a story, etc. I did do most of the graphics myself (thank God for clipart!). http://209.239.56.130/theopenheart/christmas/xmasfrm.htm Love your ornaments, they're neat! Hubby does poly clay stuff too. Are you putting the clay on a glass ornament, or is it all clay? If on an ornament, is the texture on the inside or outside of the ball? Do you have any hints about baking these? I bought some glass balls last year to bead ornament covers for ... and so far I ain't done it! LOL Maybe next year....
The clay is applied over the outside of the balls. Tips?? hmmm... well.. lets see... sometimes I put a thin layer of clay on the ball and bake it, and then recover it. I always take the paint off the balls first.. a soak in hot water usually makes it come off easily. I have been running the thin layers of clay through a pasta machine to get it consistently thin. The biggest problem I have yet is applying embellishment over the baked clay. I think using TLS (translucent liquid sculpey) would help adhere the baked to unbaked parts together. .. or is that diluent? I must do a bit of searching to find out which I need! I would recommend using Premo rather than Sculpey lll for this project. If there is anything else I can help with please dont hesitate to ask. Im new at it but its such a fun way to embellish that Id love to encourage others to have fun with it too.
