NO WAY.

I rarely say it, but I am completely freaked out by dolls... doll FACES specifically. I am mildly (OK, not mildly, completely) terrified of realistic faces incorporated into non-realistic dolls. I am OK with Barbie, UNLESS her head has been removed and used for another purpose, like the Barbie-head art car that drives around Portland. Cloth dolls with porcelain faces terrify me.

Clowns, too.

I have a collection of dolls that freak me out, though. I don't like to look at them so I keep them in a plastic garbage bag in the basement. Someday, when I'm an old lady, I'm going to have a room in the house for my dolls, but I'll never go in there... I'll just trick OTHER people into going in there, and then wet my pants laughing.

WOW, me, you, Kathy K, and Candace... what are the odds? I bet there are more, too.

You know what's funny, is that in some kind of bizzarre exception, I absolutely adore the realistic polyclay doll faces I have seen by a certain seller on Justbeads. I think they're fantastic.

No clowns for me either. Sooz sent me the B n B Sept 2003 issue with all the winning entries---everytime I come to the page that has the bugs with doll faces on them I gotta take a deep breath and glance at the rest of the page quickly. I'm still not sure what else is on that page! LOL

Thank you Debbie.

I have been admiring her iridescent wings in the morning sunlight. I think I am going to attach her to a beaded string and hang her in my window here by the computer. =o)

I made them. Cindy McCornack gave me the idea. I got the wing stamps from Sunday International, stamped them onto transparency film, applied a coat of Opalite Pigment Ink in Cypress Frost, then a coat of DecoArt Star Lite Topcoat, then a coat of clear embossing powder. Hit them with a heat tool and then cut them out. So in person they have a very subtle greenish iridescence with little bits of sparkles here and there. I love them!

I also have some halographic embossing powders. I made a few more sets last night, one with Opalite Orchid Ice! Yum!
