Hi. I don't do much beading and have a question.
I'm stringing a necklace to highlight a jade pendant that my son gave me. I was about to attach a magnetic clasp. However, there's no loops on the ends. It's just two cylinders that adhere to one another. I have no idea of how to use this clasp. Or should I get something else? Thanks, Win
I'm not fond of magnetic clasps. I find that the least little bit of a tug and your jewelry is gone - often unnoticed until it's too late.

I was afraid to lose bracelets with magnetic clasps, too, so what I decided to do was put a safety chain on. To keep the safety chain from dangling, I used "cheap" chain (i.e. not sterling silver; the kind you can get in the value pack at Michael's) so that it would gather up and stick to the magnetic clasp.
It works for me... no hanging-down loop of chain to catch on things, and nobody sees it unless they actually look at the clasp, and when I explain why I did what I did, they think it was a brilliant idea (including the gal who taught a beading class I took!)

Kerry always adds fringe to hide the magnetic clasp and chain the chain is essential. Armand
