Need advice

I need some advice.

August 28th, I won an auction for 15, 3 inch tubes of silverlined 11/0 seed beads. After a week, I contacted the seller to ask what was going on. About 3 days later, she sent out an e-mail to all of her customers, apologising for the delay, saying that she was in the middle of moving. Okay, I'm not gonna freak out about a week or two, right? So, another week goes by, and still, I got nothing. So I waited a little bit, e-mailed her again, and a couple days after that, she got back to me. She said that she was very sorry for the delay, yes, she had sent the beads, and she had doubled my order for my patience. Sounds good to me, I can wait, since she'd mailed it.

A week goes by, I'm coming up to the 30 day deadline. I e-mailed her again, letting her know they still hadn't arrived. The day after that, a package arrived from her, with a note saying she had just been thru an emergency apendectomy--a double order like she said, mailed after she said she had mailed it--but the BIG problem was that she didn't send the right beads. I ordered seeds, she sent bugles. I immediately sent her an e-mail letting her know--that was a week ago. I still have not heard back from her.

She immediately left me positive feedback upon payment. I have yet to leave any for her. She got her first negative from someone who ordered the same thing I did, on the same day I did. She responded to that with an apology.

I'm not sure what to do. I got her contact info from eBay, but I'm not even sure it works, because she said she had moved, and if she couldn't keep up with her orders, then I don't think she updated her eBay info yet.

Any suggestions?

I would attempt to contact her via the info provided now, because if it is bad information, you want to get eBay directly involved ASAP before you lose any rights as a buyer.

PS - the whole situation sucks.

Can you use the bugles? I know it's not what you wanted, but I love bugles. And since you got twice what you paid for, I might be inclined to let it go, knowing that she is totally stressed out right now. That's just my feeling, maybe I'm too easy.

That's where I'm running into problems. I ordered the original beads because they were "outside my box" in terms of color and style. I just don't do flashy seed beads hardly ever. But I wanted to push my comfort boundaries, yanno? Bugles are a serious stretch. I'm sure I can find something pretty to use them in, but I don't know if I'm willing to settle for that. Okay, there's my root issue here. I need to figure out if I'm willing to settle.

lool, Thanks, Cheri, for "talking" me through that!

Unless I very specifically needed those exact beads right now, I'd probably drop it. We're not talking expensive stuff here are we? Considering the cost in time, stress and postage, I probably wouldn't pursue it. I guess I'd kind of feel I was kicking someone when they're down. And that we all need forgiveness sometime.

This is not what I think you should do, or what I recommend, or what I consider professional. It's only what I would do.

*sigh* That is how it feels. The beads have sat in their package for a week--I didn't even take off the bubble wrap. I guess it's time to rip that baby open and see what I can create.

Hmmmm. While I can certainly understand that things happen and that not every order can go smoothly, I think a lot of mistakes on the part of this seller could have been avoided. If I were moving, I would not be listing things for auction, because I know how chaotic that can get. You've been more than patient. If I were the seller, I would expect a negative feedback after all those mistakes. It was really nice of her to double the order (that's the only redeeming thing about it), but if they are beads you didn't order..... I don't know. It depends on how you're feeling about it. Personally, I would be inclined to leave a neutral or negative feedback explaining the problem, since she hasn't returned your emails. You gave her every chance to rectify the mistakes.

Candace, I love bugles and use them for my Xmas ornaments. If you can't use them, I would be willing to buy them and pay for postage. I can always use more. That way you can get more of what you want somewhere else.

Let me know.

All this is running through my head too. Especially the part about how she left an apology in response to her negative. I think I'll let this sit on my mind today, and make my decision tonight.

Can you give me a few days? With my mom coming tomorrow night for a visit, I'm gonna need a little while to figure out if I want to use these bugles. If I decide against it, you'll be the first to know, sweetie:) If I do go that route, what about a trade, instead? Either or.

I am chicken with head cut off personified:) I went out and got her favorites--pears with cottage cheese, and hazlenut coffee.
