Need suggestions, please

I just bought this vessel bead for a friend of mine,

who wants me to make a necklace for her, similar to the one I made this pastweekend. (In case you haven't seen it...

top picture) I'm at a loss at what kind of beads to use with it, short of making my own with poly clay, which i'm sooo not up to quite yet. She wants very earthy, and although i have a few beads left from when making my necklace, she's more into the ceramic, clay, natural look. I'm on a tight budget on this project, so would appreciate some advice. I know I can count on you all for great ideas!

< Very nice bead... I like it a lot and I am a bit bias so please understand... I would use chunk Jade or a natural chunk stone beads to go with it. Another option I would consider would be bone beads... if metal... I would go with silver or brass. Please remember I am not the brightest buld on the tree.

Labradorite and yellow jasper or amber.

First thing that comes to mind is stone. One of the grey varieties of jasper. Maybe some pyrite beads. White mother of pearl rounds. Light montana topaz satin Swarovskis to pick up some of the warm brown? Or montana satin to pick up blue. Paua or abalone might be especially nice, too. (How could you neglect to mention that, Harry). Yellow-y turq would probably took good with it too. Glazed ceramic beads.

Nice little bottle.

For Tina's suggestion:

Or:

Hematite with garnets on either end (garnet is a good accent color for gray)

I also saw: laboradite with tiger's eye accents, which was actually my first choice. Maybe some garnet and silver thrown in to make it interesting.

You guys are awesome....i must have been feeling what you were thinking (if i believed in chanelling at all, that would be the closest description), because these were all the things i was looking at tonight, and even bought some. Thank you soooo much!

Yep, that is what it looked like to me but you would know better, having held the beads up to the vessel.

I can't wait until I can. The vessel is due here on Tuesday or Wednesday. How am I going to sleep until then? oooooh actually, I do hope it comes Wed. Because that's the day my friend comes over for the afternoon so that our kids can spend time together...my mind is reeling....

Yep. This girl not only got deflowered, but fell "hard" for her lover, LOL. At least it is one that will still respect you in the morning.
