Newsgroup Question

Hi everyone - I just found this newsgroup and am enjoying the info here. I am curious - most of the posts I've seen so far relate to lampwork and the like - do people here also write about seed beadwork, loom or off-loom? Thanks, Ellen

Welcome Helen from Shirley in UK. A lot of us do seed bead work of many kinds. Just ask your questions. Shirley

Hi, Ellen, and welcome to RCB! While many of us here *do* have a passion for lampwork, there are just as many others who's passion is seed bead work - both on and off loom. I'm sure many of them will jump in right about now!

Hi Ellen,

Many of us love all sorts of beadwork. I am new to lampworking, but have been doing seed bead and loom work for about 2 years. I also enjoy wire wrap at times. Welcome!

Welcome, Ellen. And yes, there are quite a few bead weavers here along with the lampworkers. Just raise a topic that interests you, and expect a deluge of responses.

It goes in fits and spurts. I have just started doing seed beading again after a neck injury kept me from doing anything but the most basic stringing this year. Most of us do some seed beading, along with stringing and drooling of the lampwork that's presented here.

Hi Ellen, welcome.

For me lampwork is an exciting element that I'm learning to use. But I'm at least as interested in seed bead work. And usually I just skim posts about making lampwork beads since I don't do it, or plan to do it. I love how this group responds to any element of beading people want to take it in. And I hope you join in, asking questions about beadweaving and posting links to seed bead work.

Oh, heck yeah! Anything bead related is a good addition here. Like most newsgroups, we go through stages. Lampwork seems to be the hot thing right now - and of course I am biased - but seed beadwork is always appreciated.

Welcome Ellen,

Beads and beading of all kind. But be warned..... I hadn't even heard of lampwork until I started reading RCB. Now I'm trying it!

Hmmm... You're right. I guess we'll just have Cosmo guard you. He's a huge tattletale, so you won't get away with anything. LOL!
