OT: ? about Access

I may have asked this ? before, and if so, I apologize. I don't recall getting a reply.

I'm still stunned that Tink & John have known each other since kindergarten... I didn't go to kindergarten, I don't think they even had kindergarten back in the dark ages when I started school, but I can't even remember anyone I went to 1st grade with...

So don't feel bad if I can't remember if I've asked this ? or not...

Anyway, almost every time I use my Access database to send an email, it crashes. Sometimes the email goes out, sometimes I have to re-create it. I fixed this problem on my laptop, doggonnit, but of course when IT crashed, I lost the changes and can't remember what I did. Big DUH. It's starting to REALLY tick me off at myself. LOL

With all the jammy spam I'm getting I'm really starting to hate computers.

So if there are any Access Addicts out there who know the answer, I'll pay in beads!!!!

TIA

What version of Access? What e-mail client do you use? Are you mailing from a table or a form?

It's been a very, very long friendship, hasn't it? Other people have come and gone in our lives, but we've always been there for each other.

I tend to have few true "friends" (I don't use the term lightly), but the vast majority of my friendships have been exceptionally long-term.

30 years or more. I rarely add new friends to the fold, but when I do they're there to stay. I guess three four new friends in the last 28 years isn't very many. LOL! That would be, in chronological order: Sandy, Jeanne, Lorie and Donna.

My friendship philosophy is simple: Don't lie. Don't withhold (love, truth, time, affection, etc.). Do what you say you will. Don't judge.

Tink out.

I love your philosphy Tink. I'm probably closest to family in the same way ... I think the reason I've lost touch with old friends is from moving around, or moving on, or maybe taking too many naps... LOL

coupla more questions..

Are you using a hyperlink property to send mail or do you have a programmable button on the form that sends e-mail to this person or what.

Possibly similar to the way I send my invoices through Access. It sends them through my Outlook.

ah - okay - i'll go back to my corner. there's just no way i'd trust access with anything. i've got it disabled. if M$ hadn't bundled it with the OS, like they did with IE, neither one would even be ON my computer!

access has good points. it would just never occur to me to use it that way.

There is an alternative - uninstall IE (and therefore Outlook) and install Netscape OR Firefox or Mozilla and the Thunderbird mail client. All are available from mozilla.org.

M$ has made it virtually impossible to really uninstall IE/Outlook. they've built it into the operating system. [that's what the court case was all about]

i use Mozilla for browsing, Agent for newsgroups, and Poco for mail. because of the way some web sites grab information, i'm not comfortable putting my info into any browser.
