OT(?): Any gift ideas?

Dec 16, 2003 8 Replies

All,

I am trying to think of some ideas of gifts I can send to my "trainees" in China. Several of my co-workers are going to China in January and I wanted to send some gifts with them. These need to be small enough so as not to encumber my co-workers. The "trainees" are young adults, one woman and several men. They have all sent me gifts... souvenir kind of things from China (e.g. little statues, a kite, etc.). Obviously I'd like to send something they couldn't get in Bejing.

Any ideas?

Thanks

How about some uniquely American foodstuffs like maple syrup or maple sugar candy, tupelo honey, etc.?

I'm always amazed by it, but nearly everyone I talk to internationally expresses interest in Kool-Aid ;o)

Are they still interested once they've tried it? :)

I actually do a trade about once every two years with a woman in Australia for Kool-Aid;o) I'm hooked on this Hot English Mustard they have in AU, and her kids are hooked on Kool-Aid! LOL

In lots of places places, people seen to crave "real Disney" stuff.

How about souvenir T-shirts from the area where you live? Or postcards of where you are? Patti

All,

Thanks for the good ideas!

I ended up getting them Chicago calenders...not too heavy or breakable for my co-workers to bring along...
