OT Brother update from Shirley

Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes. I went to see my brother today, he is now out of intensive care and is a little better. The drips have been removed and now we have to encourage him to try and eat. We just hope he carries on from strength to strength and not have anymore set backs. Hugs to you all Shirley

Oh, Shirley! I just read your posts about your brother! I'm so happy that he's out of intensive care after his bypass. :)))))) Big prayers going his way across the waves for his quick recovery!

BTW, how old is he? My father had a triple bypass when he was 64 and once he followed the special diet and did all the walking that the docs recommend, he recovered very fast, lost a lot of weight and had a lot of energy. Here's more prayers that the same happens for your beloved brother. :))))))))

Thanks for your prayers for him. He is 74 in June but alas the walking is not on the cards for him at the moment. He also has to have two knee replacements because he is crippled with arthritis. So when he gets over this he will be in hospital again. It is a problem at the moment that after this operation he cannot use his arms. It is something they do not allow after a bypass until all is healed. It was like that for me when I had mine. Thing is he needs to use them to get out of chairs and get upstairs so some adaptations have to made at his home before he can come home. They do loan furniture like chairs that rise up and beds for the few weeks that they need them from the Social Services. Hugs Shirley

I am sorry to say he had a set back the day after I saw him. His heart went into irregular mode and he had to go back on the heart monitor.. I have not had a report this morning. I really feel for him having been through it myself. At least he is still in hospital, I had come out when my heart went into irregular mode and had to go back in. Shirley

Shirley, I'm sorry to hear that your brother has had a setback. I'm glad that he was in the hospital so the staff could give him the care he needed immediately. I will continue to pray for all of you.
