Update on my dad OT

It seems this got lost in cyber space somewhere when I posted it and it didn't show up in the newsgroup. Sorry if I posted twice. Roxan

First I want to thanks all of you for your prayers and concerns for me and my family. Today was the first good visit I had with my dad since we had to put him in the nursing home two weeks ago. We brought him home today for a few hours for a visit so he could go through some of his things he wants to give to friends. He had a great visit with us and his dog was really glad to see him. When I took him back to the nursing home he said that he finally realized that there was no way we could have handled him at home. He also said that he has come to terms with this nearing death. I am looking forward to finally spending some quality time with him before he dies instead of having him call us names and never forgiving us for doing this to him. I can't begin to tell you how difficult it has been and stressful. I am just glad that now he knows that we didn't do this to him because we wanted to get rid of him. Miracles do happen and I am thankful that he is making a 180 degree turn to be more positive and less combative. I think the anti-depression meds are finally helping. Roxan

I'm so sorry that you have to go thru this but I'm very glad to hear that he's doing better. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Ditto. It is so hard for all of you...and I encourage you to remember THESE moments as he deteriorates. That he was able to be be rationale when he becomes irrational again.

Roxan,

So glad to hear this. I am so glad he got to see his dog (and vice versa) too...

I'm so glad he is experiencing this healing. His body can't be cured, but his mind can be healed. That really is the best part.
