Just what I need, another costume to make :-)! I am taking a break right now between stints at the sewing machine and the bead table. If you go to that page and click on Rennaisence costumes and look at # 5925, the one on the right, I have made 2 of them and an extra pair of breeches; #8192 I made the one on the lower right in the enlarged view. Right now I am making a full skirt with an overshirt that gathers up with wide ribbons to wear with a purchased bodice and blouse I bought at the festival last week. Also made 2 shoulder bags with celtic embroidery. Tery is only playing 2 more weekends of the Festival but then we are going up the last weekend to play spectator, but still wearing costumes! Last weekend the entire place was a swamp because we had some really heavy rain the 2 days before. Bead related I made a necklace of brecciated jasper, silver spacers and a nice lampwork focal to wear with it.

I did get the necklace done for my future DIL. I was looking for something in blue and white that would look like clouds. Instead I went with blue and white but went with the ocean theme since they are being married on Long Island in Hampton Bays. Her grandmother has a large house with a deck overlooking the bay and the reception will be on their beach right below it. So I used MOP oval beads and alternated them with pieces of a large shell fan, dyed the right blue with a sterling toggle. Hope she likes it!

Hopefully, once I get the Mother of the Groom outfit done, I can get back to reading the NG regularly! Dream on, Alice, Wonderland is right around the corner!!!

You sound a lot like me, many projects on the go with hardly a break in between! The full skirt sounds gorgeous. What fabric did you use?

I used the lightest I could find, a brown cotton and the overskirt is a small orange and yellow stripe with tiny vines held up with orange ribbons. I got the cotton in the quilting fabrics section at JoAnn's. The stores here don't have a huge selection of fabrics since Minnesota Fabrics closed unless you want home decorating materials. If it was winter I would have had more of a choice. But the weather is in the 80's and the bodice is damask. I will be "glowing"!

DH just went for takeout. nice thing about time crunches is I don't have to cook!!!!! When he comes home he will put the grommets in the waistband and I can finish it up! YIPPEE!!!! JanG

I'll have a look in our quilting section and see if I can find the fabric you describe for your overskirt, I reckon I've seen it. We have a big quilting dept in the store where I work. I love some of the prints; some of them would make wonderful summer blouses. I just got Kwik Sew pattern 3199:

I'm about to cut out some ink blue cupra satin for the view b. View c is a style that is sooo in for summer (our summer!) and I reckon some of the craft cotton prints you find in the quilting section would be very pretty made up in this view. With beaded embellishment would be even better!
