It was Lori's (?) complaint, not mine. :-)
I have since migrated to Thunderbird, myself, and it automatically imported *all* my Netscape data, including sig files, upon installation.
However, mozilla.org does offer an extention that deals with sig files. Perhaps older or beta versions of tb didn't do sig files.

my fault, sorry. i wanted to reply to lori.
I have a signature setup in T'bird. You just create a file and under Tools>Account Settings select Attach this Signature and specify the file name.
