I am SO in shock

Karen Queen of Squishies IM'ed me and asked me to come to her house today. She handed me a card with a little package with a fat quarter as the paper when I opened it I found enough money for the down payment on the house with a little left over.

Ladies, my husband and I do not know what to say, I am so shocked because I don't talk much (hate being depressing all the time) and haven't been on here very long. We can not thank you enough, we were almost out of time and we still haven't got the truck back. That is a big mess and I pray that it gets taken care of soon.

My second oldest grandgirl (Becky), I think, has it in her mind she is going to spend (LOTS) of time at Grammy's house. This would be fine except she goes to pre-school and Grammy passed getting kids up and off to school a long time ago. Yea right, that is Grammy's girl and she has me wrapped around her little finger, with in reason.

Well, once again I can not thank you all enough and I can't wait to get moved in. We have to wait until after the 1st of Jan because they are going out of town. They will call as soon as they get back and then the work will REALLY begin. The house needs a lot of work, but then that is exactally what we wanted.

I will take before and after pictures for you.

Kathy, that is wonderful and oh so kind of Karen Queen of Squishies. Now I have a lot of good friends but that is one special person. I can't wait for the pictures and yes, I am so happy for you that right now I am crying.

Karen, I don't know you personally but you must have many stars in your crown.

You know my sisters have been giving me a lot of problems over dad, like wanting me to pay half of all the bills because I live with him. Yes, I live with him because he has alzheimers and needs someone to take care of him, just like I lived with mother and dad both when mother was sick and took care of her for 7 years. Today I had something great happen to me too, my best friend's husband took me to the doctor and we were in a store looking for his wife's Christmas present. The manager came up and started talking and he told her how much trouble my sisters were causing me and he looked at that strange lady, we didn't know her and said, but my wife and I have talked about it and if they decide they want to take care of Dad, because he calls my dad, dad, that she is moving in with us. The bed in our guestroom was given to us by her mother and dad and we plan on taking care of her if something happens and her sisters do even worse things to her. Folks, I have no problem paying the money but I don't think I should have to, they say he might have to get into savings if I don't, he said that is what I have it for, but they don't want us to dip into his savings.

Karen you and my friend are what Christmas is about.

Now I have another question, am I un liked by this group? Not one soul has asked me for my IM nicks or numbers, LOL but I do have them all.

Well, Huggers, as you can read for yourselves, you have really outdone yourselves this time. Let it go down in Hugger History that you gave someone a HOUSE for Christmas! Well done, to all you generous hearts who made this happen. And may you also have many happy returns as a result of this. This group never ceases to amaze me.

Kathy, now you can have your grandkids visiting you again, and fill your house with all the loving noisy bustle that they bring along.

Kathy, you mentioned that the house needed a lot of work. Please don't think that the non-emergency things must be done quickly. We lived in our funny old home here in the Swamp 8 years before we could slam a door. The builder hadn't bothered to nail the door-facings in and they were only standing in place. You just have to decide what just must be done, what would make you happy to have done and what can wait forever if need be. Happy, happy new year. Polly

So glad to hear that you will be able to move into a warmer place. Hope the house is livable, as is, for a little while so you can get yourselves back on your feet. Just wish we were all closer so we could help you settle in. Last night I was watching a movie about how all the local people arrived to help a family move their house. What joy it would be for 50 quilters to arrive and help you unpack and paint. Of course knowing this group we would get sidetracked looking at your stash and not finish the unpacking.

I agree with Polly on this Kathy, we have lived in our house 32 years, built it from the ground up, yet is isn't finished and now it is an old house. Other things in life are more important than having the inside of a closet painted.

I am so happy the huggers got together and did this, it is just simpley wonderful and like I said earlier I cried to think that people are so generous.
