Since this house has been lived in and still has the heat and power on I don't think we should have to worry about wet plaster. The plaster IS off one of the rooms, but the lathes are still there. There ARE some holes to fill but that is about all. I THINK

Debra, maybe so, but it is sure great when you have no one off line to talk to and you really need to talk "one on one" so to speak. I know if it hadn't been for my on line friends and talking to them, I am not sure I could have kept my sanity.

Hello, I am West Central Georgia very near the Alabama line. I don't get out much because I work from home. I would like some real contact with folks in my area.

Quilt very little (machine made 9 square), do sew a lot (from my own patterns--everything from ladies formal wear to festival tents, only shirts for males), crochet (from my own patterns), train livestock (goats, sheep, horses)/ pets (cats, dogs), mid-wife same livestock and pets, grow some major gardens (hope to have some three to four acres in garden this spring), raise four children and a husband (okay, they're raising me), make candles, make some simple jewelry, minor embroidery work, minor leather work, master at patching blue jeans, read at least two hours/ day on the average and do a little day-dreaming. Obviously, not all in the same day. On kind of a rotating schedule dependent on season and my strength level.

Would like to get back to home canning, candy and jelly making. Would like to become proficient hand spinning wool and cotton (have several bags of wool from shearing my little flock and some seed for ornamental cotton). Would like to establish a couple of hives of honeybees. Would like to regain the ability to walk ~mile and a half out to the highway and back (currently have trouble walking more than about fifty feet, sometimes just crossing a room is difficult). Would like to sleep a whole night in peace and wake refreshed every morning.

Attempted to start a handcraft group with no luck. Wouldn't mind trying again. I am able to teach a variety of crafts and hobbies. Would love to learn from others as well. When husband and son are at work and the daughters at school, it gets a little old having only the animals or myself for conversation. Sometimes those conversations are with the family pet snake or the wild lizards that constantly find their way into my house. Conversations with animals are usually discussions about how foolish, lazy or misbehaving they are. Conversations with myself usually are mad attempts to figure out the flaw in what ever pattern I am trying to create. I find vocalizing helps me when just thinking and making drawing plans fails to find the solution. (You are crazy if you are poor, eccentric if you are wealthy. I believe I am wealthy in the life I live. The government claims our joint income puts a family our size below the poverty line. So take your pick, I am either crazy or eccentric and loving it all the way.)

Welcome Vandy! This group makes a pretty good sewing circle, with the advantage that you don't have to wash up a lot of coffee mugs, and somebody's always available round the clock. Roberta in D (for Deutschland)
