My take on this is that if that's the case, you need to be hanging out with a better class of people. If you can't completely eliminate the nay-sayers from your life, at the very least you can (1) drop back your level of exposure to them, and (2) expand your circle of friends to include those who *will* be supportive.

well, it was getting kind of expensive. **grin** and this weekend is the 50th Rock & Gem show that they now seem to have renamed the Gem & Jewelry show. the last couple of times i've been down, everyone has been busy, and there's so much i need to do HERE. but I'll be there on the 24th, for sure!

Kathy is so totally right about this! And you can expect backlash from all quarters, too! I had to "clean house" in my life a couple of years ago. Really difficult, but one of the best things I've ever done for myself.

I always wanted to be liked. To the point that I was a total pleaser, often at the expense of my best interests. I've discovered it's much better to be respected than liked.

I can so relate! I got rid of my former husband, and then I realized my "best friend" of 28 years was just using me too. It was quite a shock. It hurt so much to realize I was getting shafted by both of them. ~~ Sooz
