OT Postal rates to UK from USA.

I have had several offers of beads and things for the Girls Child centre in Kenya. Since it would not be until next March time when I go or in case I have to send them via JB, I said the cheapest rate would be via surface mail. I have been asked what postage costs maybe but since you have more ways of sending than we have over here. I must confess I cannot help.

So would some off you post on here the best way and cost to send packets and parcels to me here in UK. Also the customs label marked as a gift and a lower amount on it. I would hate to get it all wrong. Thanks Shirley

Global priority mail flat rate envelopes are 9.50 and can take up to 4 pounds for the large. The small envelopes are (I think) 5.50 and take

1-2 pounds max. Very small packets can be sent airmail or parcel post.

A lot of times Air Letter Post is the least expensive, even less than surface. Usually it costs me less than $5 to mail things to the UK, as long as they are under a couple of pounds, and as long as it's in an envelope or smaller package. Bigger, heavier packages are definitely less expensive on the surface route.
