So finally I got to meet Shirley Shone! On november 10th she and Steve came to the Netherlands. Before that she asked me if I knew any bead shops in Rotterdam. I don't but I know Amsterdam pretty well so I suggested her to come to Amsterdam and meet and I could show them some bead shops, a antiques market and some other high lights of our beautiful capital. Bart is a wonderful man and a great guide. We had a tremendous time together. We did many things and the visit to the bead shops was great. Lunch in the Thai restaurant was very good.
It was an exciting but very tiring day and I was completely shattered by the end of it.
I had a scare last night. I had worn my necklace made with Kandice's beads so Bart could see them. When we got back to the ship we had only time for a quick wash and change of shirt before going to dinner. I changed me RCB tee shirt and put a plain white jumper on to show of The necklace. Horror of horrors it was not round my neck. Panic set in. I thought it could be anywhere between Amsterdam and the Europort. Did not know where to look. Steve looked in the cabin. I looked in my fleece jacket to see if it had got caught in that. No beads to be found. I was just about to admit my sad loss and we were leaving the cabin for dinner. Then I decide to have a pat around my body. Lo and behold it had fallen down my cleavage, tucked in my bra. DH said at least they are useful for something anyway. My I was a happy bunny.
Bart you deserved every thing in that box of beads as well as the tassel.
He did not tell you he presented me with some Hyacinth bulbs and some tulips I can call my very own because they are named "Shirley".
However I had an unpleasant thing today. My right leg was hurting and my doctor rushed me into hospital with a suspected thrombosis. I was let out tonight with the most glamorous pair of white elastic stockings. I have to go back tomorrow for a dopler x-ray to make sure everything is okay. They think it could be a muscular problem but need to be on the safe side. I have sore stomach where they injected the blood thinners.
A few good vibes would come in handy right now.
When I get my act together I will send my pictures for Bart to put on the site and you will see him too.
I came away from Amsterdam feeling that I had gained another son.
