That closet space we all want takes a huge bite out of the square footage. My house is a generous 1000 s.f. with seriously inadequate storage. But fortunately there's a detatched garage/shop and several out buildings.

I can't wait to take pics of the new condo for everyone. I will *miss* the yard out here (even though I never grew anything on it, but it is peaceful, and nice to go out to even at 3am).
But going from probably less than 400 sf, to 1200 sf, will be *so* nice, even if I have to put up with the stairs. One drawback...no coat closet. And no seperate room that I can use for my lampwork. Oh, well...we are trying to figure out how we can change a portion of the (miniscule) patio for it.

I wish there HAD been some closets... that might have explained it!
Layout does make such a huge difference, though; my house, at 924 sf, would have been a livable size if they'd put two bedrooms upstairs instead of one big one and a large landing; they could have then made the living room twice the size by eliminating the big bedroom downstairs.
Hahaha or maybe they were counting the storage room in back of the garage...
Honestly, I'm starting to wonder if we should give up on moving. We've looked at NO houses for over a week now.
I'd have to get her to fly out here from New Hampshire... she keeps
