OT:WOO FREAKIN HOOOO

My kiln is here!!!!!! Poor UPS girl wanted to know what the heck I had ordered! I can't believe she got it to the porch -that thing is heavy!

Now it is in the foyer - the box is open- BUT I can't lift it out.

Now to find someone to help me get it downstairs. Oh where are those big strapping boys when ya need em???

As soon as I get it downstairs and up and running I'll give reports!!!

Doing the happy dance with you. I try not to lift my big kiln at any time. It takes two large men to move it as it is.

Yay Kathy! Haha, my oxy concentrator is still sitting in my foyer too! I am so stuck on ventilation that I can't see straight any more and am about ready to give up the glass thing for a few weeks and just get some PMC clay to stat playing around with my not-as-new-as-your-cool-new-kiln kiln that is also sitting in a box in my garage. Oh I hate having all this cool stuff and not being able to play!

Hope you are able to play soon! Let us know what you make :)

Well I'm using the open garage door and a fan as ventilation.

But I know what you mean about not being able to play right away. Now it's time for me to fins a bulk MAPP supplier.

What kiln did you decide on? Oh -wait the one in your glass deal?

Wheeeee.

OK, but don't say that on Wet Canvas! Or is your fan pulling the fumes away from you? Well even if it is, it's still polluting the air that is coming back in... I don't know. Maybe I'm wrong about this. I've been reading about ventilation for days now... and I think I know less now than I did before I started. I have a headache thinking about ventilation and there are no fumes around me at all! So, I have a call in to my HVAC friend to see if he wants to help or if he can tell me who to call. I give up on this "do-it-yourself" project!

Yeah I'm going to keep my "deal" kiln - it will work for what I need I think... at least for now. And maybe it will be everything I had dreamed of. Except it won't be able to "ramp-down" like I read in places is good... since it doesn't have a controller.

Happy bead making - hope to be joining you in a couple of weeks!

You have a bunch more years of that. It reminded me of this story, though... TWO CHICKENS AND A GOOSE A biker stops by the Harley Shop to have his bike fixed. They couldn't do it while he waited, so he said he didn't live far and would just walk home. On the way home he stopped at the hardware store and bought a bucket and an anvil. He stopped by the feed store / livestock dealer and picked up a couple of chickens and a goose. However, he now had a problem: how to carry all of his purchases home. The owner said, "Why don't you put the anvil in the bucket, carry the bucket in one hand, put a chicken under each arm and carry the goose in your other hand?" "Hey, thanks!" the biker said, and out the door he went. But in the parking lot he was approached by a little old lady who told him she was lost. She asked, "Can you tell me how to get to 1603 Mockingbird Lane?" The biker said, "Well, as a matter of fact, I live at 1616 Mockingbird Lane. Let's take my short cut and go down this alley. We'll be there in no time." The little old lady looked him over cautiously, then said, "I am a lonely widow without a husband to defend me. How do I know that when we get in the alley you won't hold me up against the wall, pull up my skirt, and ravish me?"

The biker said, "Holy smokes lady! I am carrying a bucket, an anvil, two chickens, and a goose. How in the world could I possibly hold you up against the wall and do that?" The lady said, "Set the goose down, cover him with the bucket, put the anvil on top of the bucket, and I'll hold the chickens."
