questions on zots,etc

Apr 21, 2004 2 Replies

After reading this thread I'm wondering...I have some Iris seed beads I've bought at various places like Walmart and Michaels that include beads that appear like zots and some look like delicas. I thought that it was just because the quality isn't very good and needed to be culled. Would they be culls or just zots and delicas in there by accident....??? You guys seem to have all the answers lol....Sharon in SW Ontario Canada

Sharon,

They are probably Chinese or Czech seeds and are a mishmash of whatever comes off the line. The ones that look like delicas really aren't, they are just pieces of the rod/tube that didn't get polished down to a roundish shape.

I can't answer your question about walmart or michaels beads. But, when I contacted bead501.com they said zot is an abbreviation of a very long slovakian word that means "long bead"
