I got one recently. Hideously overpriced stuff, nothing terribly original.

That said their headquarters are here in Scottsdale and they have one shop in a small retail strip, another one in a recently-opened high-end mall and another one going in at the local Arizona Mills (pseudo outlet stores). I'll buy stuff in a pinch. Last Xmas one of the managers had fits looking at my beads (which I took out to match with some crystals) and at some point I'm supposed to take my beads to the owner for possible store placement. I should, I know, but that store just leaves me kinda lukewarm.

that happened to me at the local independent bead store. i took my boxes of "Tink" and "Karen" beads to match seed beads too. the clerks were all over them, with "we don't have ANYTHING like THOSE!"

next time i go, i'll take cards for you and Tink to leave with them.

Yes, and *never* again.

Shoddy merchandise, waaaay overpriced, lousy service, and they tried to charge me twice for the one thing I bought.

I ordered in the past and it was not a happy thing. The Customer service rep directly lied to me and they never made the problem right. I like to look at their mag, but you can fid all that stuff elsewhere cheaper. Rainbow

We used to get it in UK until they took their branch out of UK. It was a pity but I think there were not enough bead workers in UK at the time. So they did not have enough sales.

They had some lovely stuff. I still have one of their catalogues and am reluctant to throw it away. Would like to see the up to date one. Shirley

Yeah, I have. High prices, but sometimes if I want an assortment of colors without having to buy a gazillion bags of beads, I order from them.

such-and-such a gemstone "was popular in Mu". Yeah, right -- that lost them MY business in a hurry! OTOH, if they're headquartered in Scottsdale, then I think I understand why they're doing that; it's called "playing to your core market." <

Um, what's Mu? LOL

Scottsdale (aka Snottsdale) is very high-end but not all that eclectic. We send the really strange ones across the border, to CA.

cater heavily to the Newage crowd -- the people who believe that places like Atlantis and Mu actually *existed*. <

I'm apparently shopping in the wrong stores. Unless hanks and hanks of seed beads are somehow empowering (they make me run screaming LOL).

I think your sources were thinking of Sedona. Scottsdale is a fairly conservative place. And there's very little Mu-ing going on here in Prescott, except at the ranches.

Flagstaff and Sedona are kind of like that. Magnetic vortexes and all that sort of thing.

Prescott, except at the ranches.<

I love their stuff, but it is just way too expensive.

fate bless us all according to our deeds.

Their prices are *waaaay* out of line.

At least if you read the fine print, they now actually identify the beads. I once saw some beads in there I had to have, they were described as silver and they turned out to be metallicized plastic. Ick.
