]Kathy -- try not to throw things at me from Boston, but is there any chance of ]getting you to slam down some supplements instead of food, if you must? I'm ]thinking Boost or Boost-like drinks (there are many of them). Lot of calories, ]vitamins and protein. Would at least give your body something to work with.

GOOD idea, Becki! and Power Bar now has a "Protein Plus" that comes in about six different flavors........

I bought some Carnation Instant Breakfast today - the only thing I could find that wouldn't make me carry heavy cans up the stairs. It supposedly has lots of good stuff and can keep you going for a long while. Over the weekend, we'll stop at Costco and get some of those meal replacement bars, which should fill any gaps.

I am taking a multivitamin, Chondroitin/Glucosamine and Flax Seed Oil along with my prescribed meds, too.

Thank you for being so mothering of me. It's very sweet.

Yup, yup, what Becki said! Instant Breakfast is pretty tasty and full of vitamins. Not exactlty the stuff I drink (trying to lose weight) but a Good Thing for maintaining or gaining.

Another suggestion, in case you end up with a sore throat along the line....I concocted this for DD when her braces were new and whenever she gets a major adjustment...and now Mike's DIL uses it when her lupus flares up.

1 cup fruit juice (orange juice or apple juice is best) 1 cup milk (% fat is up to you) 1/2 cup plain or vanilla yogurt 2 cups frozen fruit (your choice.....strawberries, mangoes, peaches or melon is best) 5 or 6 ices cubes

Put it all in a blender and puree. Makes a great smoothie, tasty and feels good going down. You can use protein powder and wheat germ to supplement it and give it a healthy nudge. Store leftovers in the freezer in a plastic container, and nuke it to soften.

Hugs and good vibes!!!!!

Strange, isn't it? When you have a bunch of chronic ailments it is hard to focus on the possibility that the misery giving you a hard time at the moment might be the same kind of bug the whole rest of the not-chronically-ill population of the world is susceptible to...

Sorry you feel so awful. But glad your doc is on top of it. As for the possibility of diabetes, I can tell you from experience that folks like you, who are willing to learn about and stay on top of their health needs, and change their habits in response to what their glucose readings tell them about what works and what doesn't -- can do just fine, and even improve their over all well-being by taking effective steps to control the diabetes.

Given everything else on your plate, I hope this turns out to be a non-issue. But if it isn't, there is stuff you can do.
