Defnitely.

The rottenest thing is that one of her personalities is a great mom. But it wouldn't come out unless -- get *this* -- I was sick. ~~ Sooz

OMGoodness! My mother was the greatest nurse too. She missed her calling by not pursuing a nursing degree or becoming actress. Talk about high drama. sheesh

Makes me wonder about the similarities between some of our mothers.

Yes -- I've been thinking about that too. ~~ Sooz

Oh, what a love! It makes such a difference in life to have people acknowledge your feelings. To know that how you feel is important and real, not overeacting or being overly sensitive.

Dan was a great support with my mom too...after he saw her real side. At first he didn't see through the smoke and mirrors. Then BAM, BLAM, POOF he saw it all. He was adamant that I never speak to her again and he would be glad to kick her butt for me anytime. Unfortunately it was too late for what she had done and he didn't need to go to jail on my account. She died not having known her two daughters wanted nothing to do with her again.

He's taught me how to have patience in all aspects of my life (I'm getting better and better). He's endlessly patient and sweet, and gentle. (I need it right now.) ~~ Sooz

Muenschhausen's?

No -- that's if the parent makes the kid sick deliberately to get sympathy and attention from others. ~~ Sooz

No that is Munchhausen's by proxy.(parent making kid sick) Munchhausen's is when you make yourself sick to get attention. This very often leads to multiple surgeries to find the mysterious illness. Lonely people get company and attention while in the hospital recuperating. Armand Vine, Ph.D. Clinical Psychologist

Kevin is amazing. Kiss him but good for me, and tell him that if we weren't both married I'd kiss him that way just for being him!

My sweetie went through that too. My mom is HELL OF charming at first, and I mean, *I* even like to spend time with her when she's in charm mode... she's smart, funny, interesting, and can tell a great story. Plus, it doesn't hurt that she's good-looking and tiny... talk about charming the pants off of guys! But when she gets into her comfort zone, the charm vanishes and she gets petulant, critical and demanding. After the first day, Moxley said "I can't understand why you have such a problem with your mom, she's so nice!"

After the second day, Moxley said "Wow, your mom wasn't in a very good mood this afternoon."

After the third day, Moxley said "I am starting to understand why you don't get along with her."

After the fourth day, Moxley said "HOW long is she staying with us?"

After the fifth day, Moxley said "Next time she has to stay in a hotel."

I can't tell you what he said after three weeks.

My mom was like that, with a twist... she could always one-up me by being SICKER afterward.

I am not the best mom when my kids are sick. I take care of them, but mostly I'm like, "Here's some soup and a blanket. Hang in there, you'll get over it in a couple of days."

I think I have negative associations with being fawned over when I was sick, only to have it turned around on me later. So, I fawn over them the rest of the time, and leave them in peace and quiet when they're sick, since that's what I prefer myself.
