Reprieve

Christina, I simply could not live where you live. A couple of weeks ago, I was in my own personal hell because it was below 32 and snowing. WHERE YOU LIVE??? I don't take the cold well. I would sicken and die before your very eyes. You are a hardy woman!

I'm glad you got your reprieve and a shower! LOL Weatherbug is alerting me that the cold you had is now headed here. Calling for temps with wind chill tomorrow at -20/-25. Right now it's positively balmy at 38 which is not bad when the wind isn't bellowing.

That's me too! We've had one or two warmish days in Chch and that's the way I like it. Hate the heat. Hate it. Which was tough when I lived in Perth for so long and it's over 30C everyday for months. Sometimes over 40C. I like the cold. Call me crazy!

OK, you're crazy. But 30C and 40C, what's that in English? Or American? I hate the heat too, but not as much as the humidity. My eldest son hates the cold. He's living in Phoenix. Thinks it's heaven. I think he's nuts. I don't like either extreme. Too cold and it's no fun to go outside, and I like the outdoors. Too hot, and ditto. I need eternal spring or fall. Barbara Dream Master

We in UK have been told to expect temperatures of -15c come Sunday. Also snow. Now if we get 2 inches of snow in UK it is chaos. Store run out of bread, milk, yeast and flour in the blinking of an eye.

DH and I stocked up on the essentials today so hopefully we are ready for the weather.

My silver alchemy kit came yesterday so I can start designing.

I hope the bad weather does not come until Sunday. Our son David rang us from Holland this morning. He was in agonising pain with his back and they had to get a doctor to see him. They are sending home tomorrow when the ship comes to UK. DH is going to fetch him from the ship and is taking our nephew along with him to drive David's Land Rover home. Shirley

I was born in Oakland, but left in 67 when I was 19. Then again I was in Calif (mostly Lake Tahoe) from 81 to 87. Even though Tahoe has winter, there is so much sunshine it never felt oppressive to me. (It was also much warmer than Canada where I had been before).

I am making plans to stay indoors while it lasts. The cold plays havoc with my heart problems and definitely no snow shovelling for me. Shirley
