San Diego Stores

Hi All,

I'm being swept away to San Diego next weekend to celebrate my birthday, and I wanted to ask if anyone had a favorite bead store in the area (SD, La Jolla, Dana Point-ish)? He promised to go shopping with me without complaining . I got a few store names on the web, but since we won't have time to go to more than probably one or two, I'd like to go to recommended shops.

Thanks!

Karen :)

I can't help you with SD, but have fun!

My hubby made the mistake of going with my sister, my daughter and myself, when we took the train in to NYC from my sister's home in Ct. My b-i-l was working, so hubby thought, "what the heck" and he'd tag along.

Silly man. He didn't know that the three of us could spend 8 or so hours looking at bead stores!!! We didn't stop for lunch until around 3pm!

Hi,

I live and bead in sunny San Diego. My favorite bead store is "Lost Cities" beads in Old Town. If you want some "interesting" beads, try "The Black Bead" in Ocean Beach. I think they both have webpages. Have fun!

Hi Cathy,

Thanks for recommending Lost Cities! I loved it. The gals in there were so nice and knowledgeable, and their selection was awesome. Needless to say I dropped a chunk of change in there. :) I will definitely drop in again the next time I'm in SD. I wish I'd had more time to spend.

I also visited "The Sheperdess" two doors down from them. I thought it was odd there were two bead stores practically next door to each other. I spent no money there, however, because the gals who worked there didn't seem to care that any customers had walked in... they were too busy eating lunch to even give a little greeting. They never acknowledged us at all, even when we were looking at and touching things, so we figured they didn't care if we bought anything or not, so we left (and they didn't seem to care about that, either).

Thanks again,

Karen

Marcia Stone sold the shepardess and is now in Portland, OR. The new owners must be coasting on her reputation and just don't understand service. Armand
