I've been sitting in the house babysitting the bathroom remodel (it's my first remodel, so I'm nervous), and I've been able to finish a couple of pieces.

I finished a seed bead cuff bracelet with vines yesterday, and today I made a cube bead bracelet with turquoise rondelles.

My OH (outlaw husband)'s mom came over yesterday. I showed her my box of jewelry, and she bought the cube bead bracelet! So I'm making another one today, since I had intended to give it to *my* mom.

I've been asked to teach at the Toledo Museum of Art School of Design. Lampworking :-) I am so stoked!

The director of the School of Design was my first customer at that horrid craft show I did last June. He took my card. Prairieson works at the Museum and wears my beads on the ballchain of his ID thingie. He is their networking dude, so he is all over the Museum in all the offices.

The director and his top admin person were talking about some local lampworker that they wanted to track down because they love her work, but they couldn't remember her name, but they did remember it was an unusual name. John was in the office at the time and said "Are you talking about Tink?"

They got all excited and said "YES! That's HER! Do you know her? Do you know how we could reach her?" He pulled out my business card and gave it to them. They were very happy :-)

The Museum is building a new glass facility, The Glass Pavilion, which will be TOTALLY rockin'! Setups for everything: Furnace work, fusing, slumpting, casting, lampwork... You name it. And good size furnaces, too! Right now, the Museum school has one 300 pound furnace. The new facility will have, I believe, two 900 pound furnaces!! And I hear it will be open 24/7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you imagine!!?!?!?!

Anyway, they want to seriously grow their lampworking area and feel I have something to offer. I am honored and thrilled! We still have some things to figure out, but I really look forward to this opportunity. I meet with them again on Monday.

Here's a necklace I got a sudden inspiration to make last night. The single focal is by Tink (Chaos I think) and the other lampwork beads are Kalera's tiny green dichro lentils.

The seeds are Czech 10 - brown iris luster and the ridiculously tiny ones are a really cool metallicy - luster-y bunch of colors. I HAD to buy them when I saw them at my LBS - but dang they are tiny!!!!! and they have even tinier holes! (I've used lots of antique steels cuts beads - they can be tiny, bit the holes aren't sooooo tiny). The silver is Bali and the dragonfly charm is pewter (I think).

Whee. I haven't made a necklace in a while. And of course it's not at all Spring colors. And it's not purple! And it doesn't have the crystals from Austria - you know the ones! And I didn't use the steel seeds that I like to use. Wow- lots of new for me :)
