somewhat OT: What I've been up to, lately. Or, I swear I'll post more!

So, I know I don't post here as much as I used to. But I will honestly try to post more..this group is not as active as it used to be, and that makes me sad.

So, what's been going on with me?

I got engaged, for one thing, in November of last year. It will be a couple of years before the wedding, because we are wanting to finish our house before we get married. But I am very happy and excited about it..we've known each other since we were 15, and have been daiting for three years. I absolutely adore him. My engagement ring is not your typical one..it's very delicate, white gold, with a twisted band and miniscule diamonds set into the band. I did not want a large ring with a stone that stuck up, because I knew I would get it caught on everything.

My sister also got engaged in November, funnily enough. However, her wedding is this September. I am the Maid of Honor, and already have my dress and shoes. Originally, I was going to make my jewelry and the bridesmaid's jewelry, but my sister decided that she wants us to wear tri-colored gold necklaces so they co-ordinate with hers. I already had a black hills gold necklace with dainty little leaves, so I'll be wearing that.

I've been working a lot with wire wrapping. Nothing intricate..just basic wrapped loops for now. I haven't gotten quite brave enough yet for the very elaborate wire wrapping. I'd really like to get into PMC, but lack the space right now for a proper set-up. I usually do my wire working and beadweaving on the bed, in front of the tv!

But that's been my past few months, in a nutshell.

Here's what I've been doing, jewelry wise..the album is public, so you should be able to see it without needing a password.

Amber, That's wonderful news about you and also your sister!! I'm very happy for both of you, and it is a delight to see you posting again. I really like your work, especially your delicate wire wrapping, which is not one of my better skills, I'm afraid.

Hi Amber,

Congrats to you and your sister!! I really enjoyed looking at your album. Lovely work!

Thanks! The mask is one of my favorite pieces..although it took me ages to do because I kept picking out the beads and starting over. I made it for a masked ball challenge on the ebay Beadhive group.

Eventually I'm going to frame it. I might even make another one, if I can get up the motivation!

-Amber.
