What I've been up to

I'm still plugging away on my gansey. Had a friend pin it up today and we decided I need 2" more on the back. I'm planning to add shoulder straps in order to lower the front neckline, but the back is still too short as knitted. Go figure.

I've been spinning and plying like a fiend. The yarn came out a tad heavier than I wanted for the project I have in mind, but I can work with it nonetheless.

605k for our dialupfriends That's an 820yd hank that weighs 7.375oz, so the yardage works up to something just short of 1800ypp. It looks bulkier than it is because if went FOOF when I scoured it; I expect to knit it at 8spi or finer.

Leave it to Wooly to educate us on all the technical knitting and spinning terms. I had to note "foof" in the margin of my dictionary right next to "foofaraw."

At 1778.9 ypp, it would be fine enough to knit lace for ---- The Queen Mother, or, ---- hose for The Pope!!!! You sly one! You did not tell us! Do you have a royal commission? Or, are you going to knit socks for ---- His Holyness? (LOL)
