Technical Difficulties....Waaaah!

My kiln died! Well, not the whole kiln, thankfully, but it's still not working. I think my infinite switch died. The controller is working but the switch won't go on anymore. It had started warming up, then it just quit. I called for Craig at Arrow Springs but he's out today, so I have to wait til tomorrow. I was NOT planning to buy a switch for Xmas, I wanted more glass!!!

Total Bummer Karen!

There's nothing worse than having the muse strike and then not be able to do anything about it.

My sympathies!

Kisses to you, sweetness. At least the rent is paid.

Karen - you can probably GET ONE LOCALLY without waiting for the MAIL from arrow springs Check your local phone directory (ok - I did in online and found you can find the following): for Kiln supplies - look for a ceramics dealer or kiln dealer. I get mine from Vulcan Kiln - which happens to be in Centerville OH... I'm sure you can get one local -- when I ran a Yellow pages search for Phoenix area I got this listing "Rhea's Kiln Svc

324 W Willow Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85029 Phone: (602) 298-1113"

try that - I bet they have parts.

Karen, I just had to replace the one in my ceramic kiln. They sent me the part and I did it all myself. Daunting, but you can do it.

Oh no, how are you going to keep making those figures?

I'm taking advantage of the downtime to houseclean!

Mike talked to Craig from Arrow Springs last night. I got the stuff we need today so he should be able to fix it tomorrow. It was a burned-out connection. At Craig's direction, we're bypassing the kiln switch entirely so it will just run off the digital controller. Problem solved, for the price of a soldering gun!
