Where Are You????

hehehehe.

World, be warned...Tamie is on her way!!! and she's gonna be mad at me when she finds out all the resources on this group, and all the friends, and how much money she is going to "have" to spend when she finds all the goodies here.

Mary

yeah, and I am getting Laura in Oregon here, too...both are from the bulk bead buying forum, both are fairly new, both are GREAT people...

laura might have a touch of trouble, cuz she's coming through AOhell...

Another evil temptress. This group just seems to be seething with them. Lovely. :-) Diana

Its a pity about AOL but it will be worth every moment of trial and tribulation to get her! Its so nice of you to share your rcb addiction with those nice beaders. :-) Diana

Howdeee, Y'all! (Yes.. I watch waaaaaay too much SpongeBob....) LOL... Yes.... Mary is to blame here...WHY DIDN"T YOU TELL ME SOONER,WOMAN????? LOL.... and.. hun.. it won't be *me* who's mad... that would be Jeffy's job.....money is not a problem for me... I can spend it faster than he can make it....LOL..just ask the MIL! anyhow...an introduction.....My name is Tamie, I am a SAHM with two great little boys, age 3 and 10. I recently celebrated the 18th anniversary of my

21st birthday( "lifted" that from Mary....)We currently live in Buffalo, NY, but are going to be moving to Hell..errr.. I mean Houston....I just keep reminding myself that I *really* do like summer more than winter....and that my house will be air conditioned, and I don't have to leave in June, July or August.... plenty of beads can be brought to me door....LOL....I love beads, all beads, never really met a bead I didn't like......therein lies the problem....heehee....I think I am gonna like it here, I recognize some of the people here, and really want to thank Mary for leading me here! Tamie "Mary Rurup" <

Nice to meet you Tamie, looks like you'll fit just right. Diana

I've been there recently. Just moved from Mpls. to Portland, OR.

Hard, but worthwhile to pare down.

Welcome and settle in, btw.

Deirdre

If you get here before November, you can go to the big HBS bead show...

Okay, that means you probably want a central location. You can get some really good deals on houses near where we live; the prices are depressed because of all the flooding a few years ago. Everyone thinks the *entire* area flooded, but there were significant parts that didn't, and we can show you where they are. We're 15 minutes from downtown even during rush hour, but Outside The Loop, which means you're not paying outrageous prices from gentrification. Are you planning to rent first while house-hunting, or shoot straight for a house to begin with?

Also, my partner was an auto parts manager for many years. He can probably provide your hubby with some contacts to get started.

Boy, I hear *that* too! It'll be worse if we ever have to leave here, because now we have THREE packrats in one house...

One piece of advice: keep one good set of heavy winter coat and boots per adult. You won't need them often, but it *does* get cold occasionally even here. Besides, you might be traveling to other parts of the country now and then.

I'm so happy to hear about the move. And if you don't like the heat, you will probably need to stay inside longer than just June, July, and August. Probably February, March, April, May, September, and parts of October. LOL! I live in the Austin area, and grew up in Texas. After a short stint in the Army, and then moving to Alaska I came to my senses and moved back home.

I love the heat more than winter, but we went looking for trucks yesterday. It was around 105 and I was melting in the parking lots. In fact, I got sick and went back to the a/c'd truck. Hubby called me a lightweight, but he isn't the one who took a week off to work in the garage a few weeks ago.

Good luck in Houston and if you ever get to the hill country you are welcome here. I'd love to meet you.

Ha! *IF* she can keep any of the money from the sale of her house, or if her hubby can hide it, before she spends it on beading, especially since this group will turn her onto lampwork...right, Vicki?????

Mary
