calculation?

I wondered if there is a formula for figuring out how much thread is needed for a design. I know each design gives the amount of stitches--so if a design uses 9000 stitches, how many of these could I get in an 1100m cone? Sandy

This is from threadpro.com:

HOW MANY STITCHES PER SPOOL?

Spool Size Approximate number of stitches per spool

219 yd (200 m) 40,000 stitches 500 yd (456 m) 91,000 stitches 1500 yd (1643 m) 273,00 stitches 5500 yd(5000 m) 1,000,000 stitches

To calculate the amount of thread needed for embroidery use: 182 stitches per yard of thread

Hope this helps.

Embird gives you the upper and bobbin thread usage colour by colour.
