Is there anybody who has done an embrodery on a neoprene divesuit (wet)?

I haven't to date, but have been thinking about making a wetsuit for myself and of course it would have to have embroidery somewhere....LOL
I was thinking the ?best way might be to embroider on some lighter weight knit fabric with similar stretch and then applique that to the panel so there weren't as many stitch holes?
I'm open to suggestions too, but this was my thought so far.
