I wonder if there is any difference between the 3,000 machine and the now

3100D apart from the Disney. Would I gain anything in an upgrade. My friend tells me the new machine is so much quieter and the screen is clearer to see. I am not convinced but would like a quieter machine. Anyone had both please? Liz

Hello Liz:

We just bought the 3100D three days ago.

The only difference between it and the 3000 is Disney.

But the guy at the store told me that the first release of the 3100D had 'not very good' bearings on the various shafts.

They've now been replaced with brass bearings on newer release models and are much better.

It does make a lot of noise when it's embroidering though.

But it sure is a great machine!

Brother have just brought out a new foot for the 3000 and 3100D machines. It seems to be quieter, as it is closer to the fabric when embroidering. May be worth a try.
