Hi all! Can anyone answer this question? I am using Sandberg "Rainbow 2" on thin clear Bullseye,(I think). When I fire to a "tack Fuse" temp the Dichroic peels off from the back when cooled! I've tried cooling slower, cleaning better... I've even talked to Howard Sandberg about it! He said it shouldn't peel... BUT IT IS PEELING! It never use to peel at all! If anyone had experienced this problem, PLEASE let me know. And, if you have a solution, also let me know. THANKS!

got a batch once that fired the dichro off in needles. Same response but they offered to replace any i wanted replaced. they really take care of their customers in my experience! You say it peels off the back. I usually put the dichro side front/top???? Are you encapsulating it with clear/black???? Or firing dichro side down on a kiln shelf? If so, it is most likely attaching to the kiln shelf/wash. you need a) better kiln wash or b) to lay a layer of compatible clear?? glass down under the dichro, or c) fire with the dichro top side. m
Could you clarify what you are doing. Are you just firing a piece of dichroic face down or something else.
OK first, fire with coating side up. second, Don't face dichro to dichro. third, try a layer of thin clear on top/bottom to encapsulate the dichro. No, it won't be too thick. I do them all the time. m
Thanks for all of the suggestions everybody!!!! I guess I'll have to call Howard Sandberg again though. I've been making the earrings for about 11 years and I know something has changed because it never peeled before. I'll see what he suggests... But, THANK YOU all again!!!
