I avoid both of them (as I tend to avoid most chain stores), but am more likely to go to A.C.Moore, partially because the location is more convenient, but also because the one here tends to have less of the floral stinky stuff and more "serious" art supplies than the Michaels nearest here.

I'm now without an LNS to browse in and spend money on unneeded stash. There's a Joann's that is a long drive and very poorly stocked or a Michaels, much closer, but it's Michaels and not my favorite place to go.

I figured the A.C.Moore would at least be very convenient for DMC.

Doesn't anyone want to come here and open a shop?

Why do they have stinky stuff, pot pourri and the like ? I open the door and leave promptly, most perfumes contain acetone these days and I am sensitive to it and get a migraine. Lately I notice it also is starting to affect my breathing as well if I can't escape it, as in a person covered in perfume, or perfumed product in the elevator.

I wish the perfume wearers realized what they are doing to themselves, then maybe they would desist.

For me it's a very serious situation. I go absolutely bonkers in a theater because of the smells and have the equivalent of a major asthma attack.

My friends have stopped wearing perfume or cologne and one friend, who adores candles, puts them in the laundry room, behind a closed door, when I'm in the house.

She's very sweet to do that for me, but she knows I have a real problem.

The worst offenders are often men who smoke - they seem to think that pouring after shave/cologne over themselves disguises the smell of smoking - if they only understood they now smell twice as objectionable !

That would be great but Lucille can probably verify this too, it isn't really the smell it's when the chemicals that go in to make the smell travel on the air and up my nose or down my throat. They seem to use acetone more and more in things that smell and that is what causes my reaction.

Here's a poster from the NSNU that I printed and left in the parking garage for a woman who leaves a trail in the hallways, the elevator and even perfumes the underground parking, which was never considered acceptable.

It sometimes seems that people use cologne, scent, perfume etc in lieu of what my grandmother would call "a good all-over wash"! Bruce

Who's off for the garden eventually. First I have to review DD's camp packing, she leaves tomorrow for a week of hockey camp. Pick her up and DS leaves for 2 whole weeks.

"Gardner's Bottom"? Either the name of a small medieval village in England or the colloquial name for a medical condition caused by tasting delicious-looking-but-not-quite-ripe fruit and/or vegetables.

Belated thanks. Her stuff is really cute - and the kits are lovely. We sold out of the other kits from NZ within a couple of weeks - and just have a handful of these quirky ones left. I love the pudgy mermaid (someone told me it should be the "frightened mermaid" and Adam & Eve (a mermaid). Of course, I thought about taking the Madonna & Dog!
