Everyone's off on vacation?
I hope you took plenty of stitching along with you.

I'm here and so glad you asked. I'm nearing the end of Amethyst Dreams and so far, everyone who has seen it in your fabulous color combination, has deemed it gorgeous.

Not yet...just *doing* a buncha stitching rather than tawking about it, LOL! Still racing the clock to finish "And a Forest Grew" for the MD state fair. I pre-ordered the frame, so it'll be in the shop and hopefully they can pop it in with a shorter turnaround than if I'd waited til the stitching was finished. BAsically, I stitch til I'm crosseyed, then switch to crochet (a baby blanket for someone due in October).
I bought "The Year of Wonders" on CD awhile ago, so I've started listening to that at night as I stitch. Perfect summer evening fare - INSIDE with the A/C, of course! (At least for this week.)

Isn't it great!?
I really love that piece - so much so that I am thinking about doing it in another color combo. . .
linda
I hope not - I could use lots of happy stitching chatter right now....
Cheryl
I admit, I haven't gotten much stitching done lately, but hope to do some over the next week or so - both kids are off visiting relatives.
I have to start on the one I promised my sister for Christmas! Needlepoint - stitch suggestions welcomed! (I'll post a picture of the canvas on RCTNP tonight. . .)

LOL - just got home from my little outpatient fun with anesthesia....So, stitching is out for now -as anything would end up c*ck-eyed and/or frogged!
Hmmm - so who's vacationing?
Ellice
That was smart - getting the frame pre-ordered. Can't wait to see your finished piece. I'm similarly cranking on all these stitching things. Framer waiting for the 2nd piece - I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow or Saturday.
Good idea. I moved the floorstand all the way downstairs, so now can watch TV or listen to whatever. Was listening to "the Big Broadcast" on Sunday night. I love that show (it's old time radio shows). And be surrounded by much sewing stuff also calling my name. DH is actually kind of cracking the whip at every chance with the "aren't you on a stitching marathon?" So, I'm hoping that the anesthesia will wear off in a few hours (though I'm off work/driving thru tomorrow) enough so I can stitch.
Well, enough from me else Sheena will say I'm abusing the dial-up members again ;^)

I'm getting ready to put up pictures of my version "Twilight Time" - it actually looks better than I feared at some point. Different from Donna's, but I like it a lot.

Vacation doesn't come till Sept. Managed to get all but the metallic done on "The Bookshelf." Then I need to decide what to start next that will travel well to Maine. The lighting isn't great in the cottage so it will have to be something not too involved.
I was all set to divide the iris but then more rain arrived. That seems to be the norm for this year. Cool and rainy.
Nancy
I can't wait to see it! I'd love to see some of the other color combos too - especially chili. . .
linda
Nancy - where in ME are you going to be? And were are you coming from???
Cheryl
We'll be on Mt. Desert Island not far from Southwest Harbor. DM and DF went there almost every year for about 25 yearrs. DM just loves Acadia National Park.
DM, DB and I will be coming from Pittsburgh. If it was just me (and my car, not DBs) I'd probably swing over your way on the way up or back. We usually wing it when deciding where we stop and usually end up in Portland the second night.
Nancy
There are some nice hotels in Londonderry ;)
It's called working 50 hours a week. Bleech.
Yippee! Thank you for the ego stroking. I needed it.

It's almost too hot to stitch! I know there are places that get hotter, but that doesn't make ME any cooler! :-)) It's been between
100 and 110 F. all week and our only air conditioning is the wall unit in the bedroom. Yesterday, it was 105 outside and 95 inside. Yuck!!!!! On the other hand, it has been a dry heat so far but is expected to cool marginally but get more humid in the next few days. Thank God that DH's orthopedic surgeon spearheaded the "shower after one week" plan! DH's favorite way to maintain a non-cranky temperature is to take as many cold showers as he needs during the day. He is doing really well with the knee but his sciatica flared up over last weekend so we have an appointment with the pain specialist on Monday. At least the physical therapy and medical offices are air conditioned, as is the car. :-) Not only is it too hot to stitch, it is too hot to do much of anything but sit quietly in a chair and try not to drip! :-)Enough whining - I'm going back to my solitaire. :-) Liz from Humbug
I've been up to my eyeballs in audit, but it's now all over but the closing meeting--yippee! I'll probably sleep for a while, then perhaps manage some stitching.
Best wishes, Ericka
Can also be for some people that come to the newsgroup where they enjoyed the group in the past. Yet, they just leave with all of the JUNK messages that are appearing and feeling that either they'd be wasting their time trying to sort through every one to find only 1 or 2 good messages, or worried that while looking they might be hit with some virus mixed in those JUNK messages.
I know I am on the border for such right at this moment since I did enjoy the group.
Hi J - If you're using a newsreader, just don't click on the stuff that is clearly spam. You can't get the virus if you don't down load it. And mark it "as read" so it shouldn't re-appear. And empty the newsreader trash.
And - what are you working on???
