Is any one interested in doing a "Stitch Along"

Maybe something modest? Or a beginners canvas work piece?

Would you please explain what you mean by a "Stitch Along"? I know there are likely folks here who don't really know what this is :-)! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

We choose a pattern - usually a freebie or something widely available and everyone starts stitching it the same time frame and compare notes and results.

I thought a canvas work piece might appeal as it has lots of different stitches.

Or the other thought would be slightly complicated (just to keep it interesting) free chart from DMC

I'd be willing to bet that the majority of us DO know what you meant. This way, the folks who have never paid attention to posts discussing a stitch along will be sure of what we are all talking about

Hmmm??? Should I be insulted. Blue is my favorite color. Nope, not worth all the effort that would be involved.

ps-What the heck does IAYP stand for???????????????

Since all I can find is "International Award for Young People", I haven't got a clue either.

So - how about one of the studies in green?

I would think colors could be changed easily enough. eg-why couldn't I change the green to blues, or purples or whatever?

IAYP = Ick, Ack, Yuck, Putuiii :-). As for my dislike of blue -- younger DSis was born on **MY** second birthday. Mom dressed us in the same outfits in different colours. I had blonde hair and sky BLUE eyes so I HAD to wear most of my clothing in some shade of blue. My DS had brown hair and hazel eyes and she got any other color that the clothing was available in. THAT is why I don't like most shades of blue. Things like denim, chambray, aqua, turquoise, lapiz and sapphire are the exception. Also, most any blue that is a sparkly, shiny, bling-y blue is OK except for baby blue or sky blue -- still don't wear nor will I own anything in those two colours. A study in green would be great! Of course, if it's a project in shades of one colour, a person could pick any colour and still be part of the Stitch Along. The design and any sort of fiber changes required would be the same, just the colour would be different! Works for MOI :-). I'm thinking of doing Smoky Mountain Cats in shades of purply grey

-- get the same effect but not have all that nasty blue! Besides, I have traveled the Smoky Mountains and that color way is just as prevalent as the shades of blue! CiaoMeow >^;;^<

If we want to do that sort of project, I think I know just the piece

She's releasing it in pieces and I was thinking really hard about doing it. I not sure what my final floss choice is yet. Most likely one of the DMC Color Variations, cheap and easily found. The other was one of the Carrie's Creation colors.

Or of that is too big, I'm sure we can find another single color free chart.

The pattern is gorgeous but once you finish having fun doing it, what do you do with something that big if you aren't into quilting.

I would like to participate, as long as it isn't TOO big a piece. I never take enough time to sit down and stitch. I know..I am retired, don't work etc, but keep busy anyway. Lol

Works for MOI :-). Purple & Green are my two favouritest colours. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Too big for MOI. I don't usually do monochromatic so I don't have any recommendations. If we all try to work on something *that* big, I'm afraid people would start to loose interest and drop out and the whole reason for doing a Stitch Along is to be working on the same project with a bunch of other folks. I'm up for most any sort of a design -- I can always add a cat somewhere that's not too conspicuous once the project is finished :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Hello.

What happened to the canvaswork idea? Laura J. Perin has some great free designs.
