Is any one interested in doing a "Stitch Along"

Amber - we could do two SAL's. I really want to do that chart, even if I don't do it in a " Cheryl Floss" ( there are two).

Yeah--me too. When I'm on my very best behavior I always think I have no trace of Brooklyn in my accent, but people always seem to know I'm a Noo Yawka. Ya think, maybe I still got it!!!!

THOSE are not donuts. Donuts are made by the guy across the street who comes in at 4am to bake just like his father did before him. Shop's been open more than 35 years and I cannot abide Dunkin' Donuts anymore since starting to frequent Ziggy's.

I don't like either Dunkin Donuts or Krispy Kreme and if I indulge, the ones from Publix are better. That's not saying much for Dunkin or Krispy is it?

Ah, I thought perhaps it was a product I'd never encountered. To answer your question - no and if I had then the spelling would have deterred me from buying them. However, I have had doughnuts from a variety of sources including some extremely sweet and gooey products from a Greek cafe in Limassol, Cyprus, you could put weight on just by looking at those products

Thanks for the offer, Gillian. Received pronunciation is still heard in some parts of the UK but the BBC (with the honourable exception of BBC Radio 3) seems to have purged all of its staff who sound like Stuart Hibbert

Moan - Ziggy's jelly filled ruined me for anything else.

Is he the one that made that wonderful bread?

Nah, the bread comes from a different bakery in town. Bread and pastry one place, donuts another, really good coffee yet a third.

Sounds like heaven to me!

I found a bakery in the wilds of Amherst that supposedly has "French sour breads" which is what the fougasse supposedly is....

Someday, I'll have the time to get out there - it way off my beaten path...

Ah, Krispy Kreme - fresh, hot out of the bakery line are awesome. Very southern treat. I remember in school when studying was hitting a lull, someone at the frat house would chime "hey, how about a Krispy Kreame a.k.a. Greasy Kreme run?" And, off a couple of us would go, coming back with a stack of dozens of glazed fresh from the main KK place in Atlanta. Yum.

However, around here, an actual family owned place, if I understand correctly, called "the fractured prune" has opened in 2 locations - with more homemade, awesome doughnuts.

Donna - do you want me to bring some for Woodlawn day?

A family from our church owns a couple of Fractured Prune franchises here, so there are often doughnuts for coffee hours, etc. I wasn't familiar with the brand, but others were - apparently there'd been Fractured Prune places at the beach (Ocean City, Delaware beaches). (They haven't hit Chincoteague yet, so I'd never heard of 'em).

Anyway, FP doughnuts are deadly delicious. Though I'm more of an ice cream girl myself, and the shop near me is a FP/ Lee's ice cream combo. So I inevitably go for some exotic (and rich) pistachio or rum raisin ice cream rather than the doughnuts.

You and me - I'm definitely more of an ice cream girl. Not so much for sweets, but a really good pastry can go a long way.

Darn it. I've been spending too much time looking at research for the job interview on Tuesday (which is at a winery and I've been reading wine stuff, refreshing my memories, knowledge from France which meant looking at menus from my stomping grounds, and favorite local there chateaus).

Ack.
