Cell phone case - not OT!

Has anyone seen a design for a cell phone case to stitch? I'm kinda looking for one that I can hook to my belt loop. I'm thinking something done with the finer plastic canvas so it will be more sturdy. Or am I going to have to try and design one myself? :)

I think you could use a pattern for an eye glass case and just put a loop on it to hang on your belt. My phone fits nicely into a needlepoint eye glass case I made a long time ago.

Design it yourself and plastic would be a good idea if you want it to hook to your belt. I did a hang around the neck one, think you can see on rctnp. Bling was the thing, then lol

Do you still use it? I like it and I might have to add a little bling to mine, too. I hadn't thought about that. I'm still trying to decide what I want to stitch on it.

My problem with designing it is what do I use for a closure? I was wondering if a cuff link would work...I'd need something sturdier than thread to keep it closed.

Button and buttonhole, or one of those jumbo snaps.

My around the neck cell phone holder (crocheted) has an open top so that I don't have to fumble with anything when the phone is ringing.

Yes I still use it, more in summer. If it's deep enough you really don't need anything to close it, too much fiddle then to remove it. Mine just sits inside, it's never fallen out, it's deep enough but fitted enough at the sides that I have to actively remove it.

If I wanted a closure I would probably do a button (could be a really fancy flower one or something) then make a chain with all six strands of floss to hook over the button.

I made mine with fine canvas so it had more body.

I think I would use Velcro for a closing. You can even get it in colors now.

I saw one in a magazine that was stitched on aida band and then that was backed with iron-on interfacing. A snap was used for the closure, but I like Lucille's suggestion of Velcro. Less fiddly if you're in a hurry!

Oooooo, *brilliant* Lucille! I even have velcro spots and strips at home.

And with stuff that I do, I would need a closure on mine, especially if it's hanging on my belt loop.

Thanks for all the great ideas, everyone! Now I just have to figure out what design I want to put on it. I *think* I have a pretty good idea on how it will be constructed.
