cross-stitch crafts

has anyone sold there cross stitch crafts online or at any craft fairs. was it worth while doing this. I'm doing other craft projects as well. My goal is within a couple of years to a small home based business in selling my projects. Any ideas or thoughts.

I dont think you will haved much luck. When you find out how much people are prepared to pay for the end product, you will be lucky to earn one quarter of minimum wage. Jim.

True, but as has been discussed in my professional group, when you have no other work, even $1/hour is better than $0/hour. There are types of jobs that we could, in no way, support ourselves on, but if we're sitting there twiddling our thumbs earning nothing, it is $20 toward the light bill that we wouldn't have otherwise.

There's a disabled gal locally who sells XS at craft fairs. She likes doing XS, so as long as she sells it for what the kit cost her, she can afford to buy more supplies. Her only goal is to break even and support her addiction, and she accomplishes that.

I found that bookmatks do quite well, too. People like them to pop in with a Christmas card as something a bit special - and you can make them quite fast and use up odds and ends of thread and fabric at the same time.
