I was thinking (always dangerous lol) about making a beaded ornament for a gift exchange. Has anyone ever adapted a cross stitch patterns to beads? If so, how to you do it? One bead per X on a high count fabric?
Thanks!

I've done this, although not on an ornament. It was on 14-ct aida, I think. Been a long time since that project. Turned out beautifully.

How big were the beads? Seed bead size or miniature size?
You know, I thought of that right after I posted. I used both regular seed beads and medium bugle beads (however those are measured). But for the life of me, I cannot remember for sure whether it was 14- or
18-count aida.If you have some scraps, that would answer the question. I also add silk ribbon touches (small roses and leaves). Ahhh, those were the days when I was feeling creative!

I'll bet it was 14ct. Seems like I did an ornament years ago on 16ct, and the MH 11/0 seed beads were just a tad too big to sit comfortably side by side.
It's not as hard as you think! Look for patterns with "whole crosses" no fractional stitches. Your average seed bead will work easily on 14, but can be used on 16. Use a thread that blends with your ground fabric and enjoy! { And whatever you do - don't drop the beads! :-o ;-) - go for it}
Happy stitching!

Thanks to everyone for their help - now I have a project for this weekend (like I need another one LOL).
