Cute

Last night after work and needing to stop at the grocery store, I got home to a very sweet sight.

DD was sitting on the floor cross legged watching the ballgame.......

The ladybug needlepoint. Which had better have lots of extra yarn because she was doing it as cross stitch. ;)

Dalmatian? I saw that kit the other day at the shop. So adorable. How old is your girl?

No - a ladybug. The Dalmatian is a bit beyond her at the moment. She's 9, going to be ten in a month. (now, there is a scary thought.)

Ut Oh! Is she starting to be cranky at a certain interval? When asked what age I'd have been happy to stay at I said 45. Done with most of the hormonal ailments.

Oh, my sympathies! My dd turned 13 at the end of March and right now, let me tell you, most days that d is NOT for DEAR!!!

They come and go in fits and starts, I find. My DD will be 14 in September and for most of that time, she and I have been exactly on the same page. I hope this situation lasts, although I'm not silly enough to believe it will. LOL! DD has given me her particular brand of grief over the years, but nothing I couldn't handle and nothing serious. She's a great kid and a great mate to her old Mum. She shares my quirky sense of humour and love of spinning a yarn so she usually has me in stitches (in more ways than one!)

FYI, I have found the way to a kid's heart is through her friends' stomachs. If you learn to cook all sorts of nice cakes and biscuits and lasagne and homemade pizzas etc, then the kid's friends will love to visit. This goes over a real treat and is much appreciated by the DD, who will bless you for it. In addition, you get to meet her friends and spend time yakking about stuff that matters to them. This is the *best* thing to do and reassures you that young people today are really lovely. I have learned *so* much about the younger generation just through listening: I can't recommend it highly enough! ;-D

Regarding hormonal vicissitudes: DD and I have discovered we are in almost perfect synchrony. This makes for some interesting times in the middle of the month. DH and DS keep threatening to move out for the Duration as DD and I begin to vent our collective spleens on them! LOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Isn't that the MAP kit which I sent you? The yarn is kind of hefty for doing it in XS, but OTOH, it's just standard Paternayan tapestry yarn, which can be gotten. She's not doing the little Glorafilia one - is she????? Hmmm, maybe I'll send you the Sekas painted ladybug fob with next package (it's building).

'm teaching an "Intro to CanvasWork" class on Aug 9 - and everyone is doinga different one of these fobs... They're very cute, come with stitchdiagrams (more than just tent) and most use a couple of colors ofWatercolours (like a perle 5 weight overdye - but nice Pima cotton) and somestraight Perle 5. Cute, huh. Class is really aimed at getting folks ataste of canvas, and, well, most of the students want to take the 2ndoffering of Amethyst dreams, which now I fear will have 5 or 6 students -again.

Another seven years and she will turn 20 and be nice again - that's if you manage to last that long RDH

Yep - but are you sure that's Paternayan?

No - not her style and no doubt bit beyond her.
