Designs ideas

I had posted this question before, but got no answers. Very sad, very sad >:)).

What kind of designs in regards to useability are you looking for? We already had shawls mentioned, which I will certainly take up.

I thought about mobile phone convers, but with all those different types of phones around and the constant handling of the cover probably not such a good idea.

Boxes for all kind of knic-knacs like buttons, threads and stitching supplies....

well, everything I could use Hardanger or a combination of Hardanger and other embroidery types for. Hardanger is so easy to sew onto a lovely fabric covering a box for example.

Am very interested in your suggestions and opinions what you would like to stitch, and what you would find rather boring or even useless.

Not that I'm running ouf of ideas, I just want to test the waters a bit.

How about a vest?

This is a difficult question to answer. For every answer, ten people will stand up and make a thumbs down motion. That's why there are so many items out there that must be framed. For one thing, not that many people who are interested in needlework also sew. It's less a problem in Europe, and less a problem in niche markets, such as "heirloom" sewing, which interest is also waning in many parts of the U.S.

Vests, placemats, tray covers, pillows, purses, chatelaines (for those so inclined).

Ah, but some of us have good friends who sew. I have a friend who is a SAHM, and for a little extra spending money, she's willing to sew up anything for me. :)

;) It is a hard question! I surely have no good answers

Certainly not for anything that can't be washed! Little storage bags would work for my skinny phone....

Always fun. I'd love to see some designs for boxes/caskets that are bright and modern.

My tastes are a bit electic...

Yep, I can see, where you guys come from. But still, some good answers. I thought perhaps also about add ons, which would make nice looking laces for blouse collars or Tees for example.

Nothing, that really needs to be sewed in shape, can't really sew myself except for the basic stuff.
