Define "size"? You mean 14-count vs. 22-count, or you mean 15x8 vs. Fat Half?

I meant size, such as Full Yard, Fat Quarter, 18" X 18", etc. Not count. :)

Gotcha.

In that case, my favorite size is whatever size is necessary for that count to be usable for either an MLI angel or a Silver Lining floral. :)

Fat Quarter or the next size down. I stitch a lot of small pieces so I need more small than large bits of fabric. 28 count Jubilee is my absolute favorite.

Whatever's on sale ;-)

I've got a few pieces of linen/evenweave that I bought because I fell in love with the colors. Naturally, I haven't yet found designs that I want to stitch those pieces

I do that same thing...any scrap 5X5 or larger, 32 count or higher, cheap, and a luscious color. Then I spend three years thinking about the perfect pattern for it, LOL!

LOL - no wonder we're friends. This is a hard one. In the shop, I frequently will grab a small piece - say 8 X 8 of something just left-over and luscious.

For stash, if out shopping, probably a fat quarter is my "just have to get it" and that's big enough to do smeothing with. Same for quilting fabric - a fat quarter - or perhaps about 3/4 of a yard to 2 yards - depending on the vision that hits me when I see the fabric.

I'll confess, I tend not to buy stash for stitching - generally just buy pieces as I buy charts. But, upon occasion have just bought a piece that was irresistible.

That's kind of what I do as well. I really don't have any place to store fabrics properly so I try not to buy extra. Not buying extra isn't as difficult now that I don't have an LNS.
