Fletcher Saga - latest (2025 Update)
There are numbers on the mother and children because ...
they don't have names Seriously though, it's a way of tracking the sheep and their lambs; the European Union is trying to introduce ear tags for all sheep but this is very expensive, the tags often fall off and the electronic equipment used to read the tags is unreliable if it rains!
Spray on dye is also used when the tups (a tup is a ram or male sheep) are "covering" the ewes (a ewe is a female sheep), the tups belly is sprayed with a coloured dye which shows up on the backs of the ewes which the tup has "covered"; if the shepherd has several tups each tup is sprayed with a different colour.
Lol I did wonder how the ram's were putting numbers on the ewes now !
this is I didn't know
this I knew ;-)
